The Circle of Life

The "Circle of Life" isn't just a song.

What do you think your circle of life would look like. This is a valuable tool to help you see where your life may be lacking some attention. On a scale of 1-10 go through each slice and rate how content and satisfied you are with that division of your life. 1 being totally discontent and in the center of the circle, 10 being completely happy and at the outer edge of the circle.

Your health is directly related to how happy and well balanced your life is. Don't settle for less. There is something you can do to improve your satisfaction in each of these slices of the "Circle of Life". Be creative and think of at least one thing you can do to improve your satisfaction in the worst slice of your life. Give it 2 weeks and then re-evaluate your happiness, contentment and satisfaction. I'd be willing to bet it will become at least a little higher on the scale.

pH is a MAJOR Indicator of Your Health

Alkaline Urine pH/Alkaline Saliva pH

With the urine pH and saliva pH both over 6.5 this would mean that your pH is anionic. Anionic is a term Dr. Reams used to differentiate the amount of energy an atom contains. It is also used to depict the direction of spin of the electron, and to some degree would indicate that the movement is faster than if it were cationic.

The Following paragraphs are cited from "Biological Ionization as it Applies to Human Nutrition" by Dr. Beddoe
An arrangement of pH where both urine and saliva are above 6.5 will mean that the person is in a biochemical pattern for constipation. The system is overloaded with toxins from the usual metabolic wastes of cell function and also from the bowel reabsorbing putrefactive chemicals due to the fecal matter remaining in the system too long.

The presence of parasites is very likely in this range, since free room and board is being provided. This pH configuration will aggravate deterioration of disks, especially those in the back.  Deterioration of cartilage tissue is also aggravated.  Upper respiratory and sinus congestion will be aggravated, as will lymph congestion.   This type of person may be prone to lung infections.  In the years when tuberculosis was  a problem, this type of chemistry would have made this person very likely to come down with the disease.  Body odors, from breath to feet to bowel gas, will be symptoms related to this pattern.

Anatomically, this type of person would have an abdomen that would become more distended with age (other reasons also play into this).  In later life, there is a tendency to be overweight.  There is often a problem with skin pigmentation, because this pattern usually means that vitamin D is ratioed in the direction of excess.  An anionic pH will increase the production of melanin, or skin pigment, causing more energy to be absorbed from the sun, resulting in greater vitamin D production.  Blood pressure can be affected. Various types of skin tumors and lesions, boils and cysts may develop.  Tooth decay can be excessive, especially when the overall diet has been poor.  Women may complain of cracking, splitting, and ridged fingernails.  Women’s menstrual cycles can become very uncomfortable, with excessive hemorrhage and/or cramping, because of the body trying to use the uterus as a point of dumping toxins from other areas of the body.  PMS is a potential in this configuration.

The right side of the body will be the weak side, which means that this person will have a strong tendency for developing curvature of the spine to the left, as the body pulls toward the strong side.  Of course, this depends on how long this pattern has been in existence.  You may not realize it, but a person with this anionic pH pattern will have a tendency to cross the left leg over the right when sitting or favor standing on the left leg (strong side) while standing for long periods of time.  From a chiropractic standpoint, the left leg will tend to be shorter than the right, unless the person prefers sleeping on the strong side (left).  In that situation the spine will have an “S” curve configuration, meaning that the right hip will be higher than the usual strong side.  Vitamin C is very lacking in the system; and, in this situation, high levels of vitamin C can be used to provide extra cations in the diet to help lower the pH.  Mega doses of vitamin C may be used in this pattern, depending on how strongly anionic the pH, but, remember, when the body is forced to change pH ranges without the understanding of how mineral energy, especially calciums, fit into the picture, the body will not respond consistently.  The excess vitamin C may result in aggravating excessive gas and/or diarrhea. pH of Your Urine and Saliva is an Important Health Indicator

Are you concerned about the pH balance of your body? Are you a bit confused about who to listen to? Most pH professionals tell you that your pH should run above 6.8, at a very slightly acid state actually if you consider 7.0 to be where acid and alkaline are split.  In RBTI we don't use acid and alkaline, we consider anionic and cationic more appropriate terms. In RBTI the split between anionic and cationic is at 6.4 pH. When your body pH is at 6.4 using the urine and saliva to test this, then your digestion is getting the ultimate amount of energy out of the food you are eating. You are then able to get the maximum amount of minerals necessary for maintaining a healthy mind and body out of the food you eat, so you can then decrease the amount of supplements you must take.

Comfortable Clothes Are Key to Health

Clothes Should Fit Comfortably for Best Health

According to personal experience and that of many others, loose clothing is better for you.  The tighter your clothes are, the more they restrict the natural flows of the body. For your body to obtain and maintain the best health possible, it must be able to "breathe".  There are millions of capillaries right under your skin that need to be able to move blood, that's 2 times their size, through them. This doesn't happen effectively with tight clothing.

Check out this turtleneck tunic by Gaiam. It's loose and flowing. This tunic also improves a woman's figure. How you look in your clothes is just as important as how you feel. Quite a few people wear tight clothes because they believe it makes them look better, therefore they feel better about themselves. Notice how this tunic shapes the figure while still remaining loose?

Clothes Should Make You Feel GOOD About Yourself Too

If you wear tight jeans to show off your derriere, then that is what makes you feel good about yourself. Find a way to show off in looser-fitting clothes or stretch style materials. Think here about yoga clothes. Could you imagine trying to do yoga in the clothes you are currently sporting?

Take a look at the lady in this ad. She would have pins and needles all over the place if she were to try doing this in tight clothing that didn't have any give. I'd be willing to bet she feels pretty good about herself. Her blood is able to flow, she's able to breathe fully, she can freely move in any way she likes without being restricted. If you'd like to check out these kinds of clothes, just click the images. I like shopping at Gaiam (in case you can't tell). They have items that enhance your health, your self image, and your life in general.

Although not as important as your clothes, it is important to wear shoes that are properly fitted to your feet. If they are too tight, they will restrict the flow of your meridians which all flow to your feet. Blood flow to your feet is also of uttermost importance if you want to maintain healthy skin and nails down there for life. Not that tight shoes is the only reason for ugly feet, it is a leading factor.

Next Time Think Before You Dress

You've probably heard the term "Dress for Success", now you need to think in terms of "Dress for Health". How you dress will make a big impact on your health in every facet: Mental health, Physical health, Emotional health, and even Spiritual health.

Don't hesitate to leave a comment and tell me about your experiences with clothes being too tight!

Death by Diabetes…NOT!

Diabetes is becoming a national epidemic.

It doesn’t have to affect you or your family. Diabetes is the result of diet and lifestyle habits. Change those habits and diabetes is a thing of the past. Diabetes is the cumulative effect of too much glucose in the bloodstream coupled with too little insulin and not enough vitamin C and chlorophyll in the diet.  Exercise is also lacking in America with our fast-paced but sedentary lifestyle. Exercise is a great means of using up some extra glucose that’s in your bloodstream.

So, what do you do to avoid getting Diabetes?

  1. Go walking. You’ve heard it before, get off the bus or subway one stop early, take the stairs instead of the elevator, & walk to work if its under a mile. The best thing for overall health and wellbeing is to take a walk with empty hands, arms swinging, and nothing on your mind. 30 – 45 minutes a day is enough to create immense changes in your body and it doesn’t matter if you walk all at once or split it up into 2 or 3 different sessions. Just go for a walk!
  2. Avoid “white” products. If its white, it ain’t right. White potatoes, white flour, & white rice give off too much glucose too quickly and creates an imbalance in your system. After a while your body gets tired of dealing with too much stimulation and starts shutting down. Try red potatoes if you must have potatoes. Potatoes would rarely be eaten at all if it weren't for the toppings. Switch to whole grains and brown rice and try to get as much variety in choices as possible.
  3. No “sweets” after 2PM.  At 2 o’clock PM your body starts shifting into evening mode. It’s getting ready for the night shift. When you eat sweets or any high-carbohydrate food after 2PM you are going against your body’s natural bio-rhythm. Your body doesn’t need the energy available from glucose while it’s sleeping so from 2PM till 10PM, it’s trying to use the extra stores of glucose so there won’t be an over abundance in your bloodstream while you’re sleeping. Eating sweets or other high carbohydrates in the afternoon forces your body to deal with that new energy instead of using up the extra stores.
  4. Drink Water. This one should be a no-brainer, but for some reason Americans don’t drink enough water. For cleansing purposes the water you drink should be steam distilled water. This is because steam distilled water is a high-energy, hungry water. It’s ready to absorb all sorts of toxins and debris of cellular metabolism. Water drinking should be evenly paced throughout the day from 8AM to 6PM. To figure out how much water you & your family needs to drink, take your body weight, divide it in 1/2, and call it ounces. So a 150 pound person would drink 75 ounces throughout the day. I recommend breaking this up into 20 servings, one every 1/2 hour. So that would be 3.75 ounces every 1/2 hour.

And what if you already have Diabetes-insulin dependent or not?

I am very confident that if you start implementing these 4 tips your body will start responding. It’s amazing what a few simple changes in your diet and lifestyle can do. Children are very quick to bounce back to good health after implementing healthier habits. Grown-ups take a little longer.
Eat more vegetables, have a simple dinner, laugh, love, sing, & just learn to enjoy life. Your body will thank you for it.

'Tis The Season For Vitamin C, Got Yours?

Vitamin C and your Health

Yes, it 'Tis the Season for Vitamin C. Believe it or not, vitamins have an annual circadian rhythm and Vitamin C's downtime is this time. It starts toward the end of October and lasts into December. Great time of year to have Halloween. Just when you need to take more care of yourself, here comes candy around every corner.
You made it through Halloween just fine, now it's time to survive the Christmas/New Years rush without a nasty cold or flu episode.

Best Practices for Building Vitamin C Reserves

The absolute best way to build up your Vitamin C reserve is to use plenty of onion soup.  Onions are very high in a form of Vitamin C that does not affect your body chemistry in a negative way.  If you have a low urinary pH and were to take Vitamin C in the regular ascorbate form, it would drive your pH even lower. That would only make everything worse. So if you don't know where you stand as far as your pH is concerned, stick to onion soup.

To make onion soup

  1. Take 1 large white onion or a pound of green onions,
  2.  Chop into 2 cups of distilled water,
  3.  Bring to a boil and immediately reduce heat to a simmer.
  4.  Let simmer until the onions sink to the bottom of the pan.
  5. You may eat the onions along with the broth, or just use the broth as a base for a vegetable soup or stew.
  6. Fresh parsley may be added for flavor and additional health benefits.

Other Great Food Sources of Vitamin C

  1.  Cranberry Juice
  2.  Papayas
  3. Bell Peppers
  4. Strawberries
  5. Broccoli
  6. Pineapple

Symptoms of Vitamin C Deficiency

According to George Mateljan at WHFoods.org, symptoms of Vitamin C deficiency could be as bold as scurvy, although rare in the US, to as common as a cold or minor infections. The lining of our respiratory tract also depend heavily on vitamin C for protection, respiratory infection and other lung-related conditions can also be symptomatic of vitamin C deficiency.

According to Dr. Reams of RBTI, old fashioned scurvy, collagens disease, leprosy, and diabetes all have at least one deficiency in common-Vitamin C!  As long as minerals are deficient, Vitamin C will be deficient.  So take your Vitamin C every day from as many different sources as possible.

Are you getting enough Iodine?

Are you getting enough Iodine in your diet?

Any doctor worth his salt (no groaning, please) should be asking that question of every patient. Because contrary to everything you've ever heard, evidence shows that avoiding sodium intake can be harmful to your health.

When researchers at the University of Texas analyzed about 90 samples of iodized salt, nearly HALF didn't meet the FDA's recommended level of iodine.

This is a significant deficiency because iodized table salt is nearly everyone's primary source of iodine.

Here are just some of the key health issues linked to iodine:

  • Helps prevent thyroid conditions such as goiter
  • Helps reduce breast cancer risk
  • Research shows it may also reduce risk of ovarian and prostate cancers
  • Required for normal brain development in newborns and young children
  • Iodine deficiency may contribute to attention deficit disorder

Sea water contains iodine, but oddly, sea salt contains very little. You can buy iodized sea salt, but if we can't count on adequate iodization in table salt, I expect the same is true of iodized sea salt.

But there are two more good sources of iodine: seafood and seaweed. So I suppose that makes sushi the perfect iodine food, which is just one more reason it was the perfect dinner last night.

If you're not a seafood fanatic, you can use Algazim to increase your daily Iodine intake by purchasing here.
